How to find us:

St Ninian's is on the corner of Albert Drive and Pollokshaws Road (A77) in Pollokshields, Glasgow.

We are next door to the Tramway Theatre, and just up the road from Pollokshields East train station.  Trains run from Central Station to Pollokshields East regularly.  Buses 23, 24, 45, 47, 57 & 59 from Union Street also run past the church.

What to expect:

If you are not used to churches, the very thought of walking through the door can be intimidating.  So, here's what you can expect on a Sunday.  If you arrive in time for the start of the service the doors will be open (later on we have to lock them -- but there's a bell you can ring that will get someone's attention without disturbing the service.  We are quite used to people arriving late).  Someone will greet you at the door and give you a service sheet, a hymn book and a liturgy booklet.  They will also help you find someone to sit with if you would like.

The church will be fairly quiet before the service.  This is a time to think about the things you want to hold before God during the eucharist and to offer private prayers.   When you see the choir come in, you will know it is time to begin.  The pew sheet and liturgy booklet should help you to follow the service -- but do ask the people around you for help if anything is unclear.

In general we stand to sing, kneel to pray, and sit to listen to the readings and sermon.   But feel free to do whatever feels comfortable.

If you would like to receive communion, simply come to the altar with everyone else.  When we take communion, we receive both  bread and wine, which is the norm in all Episcopal churches.  If you would rather not receive, you are welcome to come up for a blessing -- just keep your hands folded or by your side so that the priest knows not to give you communion.

After the service, we meet for coffee in the hall.  Someone will show you the way.
